KLOUMERA(NG) #366

The Palauan word kloumera(ng) is a noun that means “belief, faith, or trust.” I believe that it is derived from v.i. oumera(ng), meaning “believe or trust.”

E.G., “…e le a kloumera er kemiu a mengerengird el mo klou…” (1 Thesalonika 1:3) “…because your faith is flourishing…” (1 Thessalonians 1:3)

(I have more examples if you would like them.)

This is not to be confused with n. klemera(ng), meaning “truth,” and which is derived from v.s mera(ng), meaning “true, real, actual, etc.”

Can anyone else confirm this? If so, I think this deserves an entry in the database.

klaumerang is from kaumerang, v.recip., I can parse it as k-l-au-merang kloumerang is from oumerang, v.i., I can parse it as kl-ou-merang, there is no meaning of mutualness klemerang: kl(e)-merang

I guess these all are three different words with slightly (or obvious) difference in meanings.

klaumerang and kloumerang means practically the same: it's the lisp or the accent. My dad said klaumerang, I was raised saying klaumerang, on the other hand my mom was saying kloumerang.

Ngarngii a klaumerang/kloumerang er ngak el kmong mocha mekelkolt a beluu.
