Does anyone know the definition of this phrase? Are these the same? I see the first one in the tekinged.com Palauan definitions, but the definitions just loop.

Gnalu commented 1 year ago

they mean the same: lisp of Keiukl and Desbedall.

This is again the same problem we have. Palauan spelling is not very standardized. We have to decide whether to add variants for everyone who spells it differently or whether we just choose one and try to force everyone to use that.

Very tough. I would feel super kedidai a renguk to tell Palauans how to spell their own language. On the other hand, I hate having so many variants in our database.

The good news is that, in this case at least, when someone searches for CHAITITUOKEL that the website's fuzzy match logic suggests 'CHETITUOKEL'.

@ChrisPerrette , 'looping'?

@ChrisPerrette , are you seeing CHAITITUOKEL somewhere?

I'm tempted to close this one, not add CHAITITUOKEL as a variant, and just allow the fuzzy match to push everyone into CHETITUOKEL

Sorry, the looping I am referring to is from when I originally searched the term and found “chetituokel a rengul” (before the search functionality was modified) under the word CHIUONGEL. This word has no English definition, so I clicked the related words MENGIUONGEL and OMENGIUONGEL. These words also have no English definition, and just link back to the other two.

Since the they are simply dialectal variations of each other, could someone at least define CHETITUOKEL A RENGUL for me, since “complicated/tedious heart” doesn’t make sense to me.
