This word yuki is from the Japanese word yuki and means snow.

I do not know if yuki is the best spelling or iuki, but since it has a Japanese origin, maybe a borrowed letter is fine.

Yeah, I see yuki whenever it is written...

And I agree - it's borrowed so "y" is fine.
