@Lukes-Imeyuns , I was thinking to make βNgβ and βchβ function as a single letter. I think that it is more accurate from a linguistic perspective since they are each an inseparable sound. But might be confusing to folks. What do you think?
What if Ng and N were one, I, J, and Y were one, and Ch was independent?
You can see the list of possible words here: https://github.com/Hugo0/wordle/blob/6f52f3c05da75667390a979245b98ab7db6b98c6/webapp/data/languages/pau/pau_5words.txt
It turns out that after removing borrowed words, there are no Palauan words that have a single 'n' in them. All words with 'n' are part of an 'ng'. And there are no J's nor Y's. Also, same for 'c' and 'h'. They only show up together but never by themselves.
Unfortunately, the maintainer has not accepted my pull request so I'm not sure when this can go live. :(
https://github.com/Hugo0/wordle/pull/44
If you want to do me a favor, go comment there and say something like how you are excited to see the Palauan language be added. That might help.
Also, currently the pull request considers 'n' 'g' 'c' and 'h' as independent because the code doesn't allow a single "letter" to be comprised of two characters.
I don't know if it's because I'm using my phone or what but I went to comment but I couldn't find a comment button. Or maybe it's just cause I'm not that tech savvy...? π«£
Also, apologies John, I just now saw your previous email in this chain...
I agree with CH and NG as one letter since one of each does not exist in the language. I hope they can accommodate that. Since Wordle words are only five letters, guessing N or G takes away two chances already... Lol.
I wonder if there is a similar case for one of the languages that have gotten live or with approval pending...?

Hey @Lukes-Imeyuns , weird you can't comment. Are these the links you are trying:
The first is the request to add support for "double letters". The second is the request to add the single-letter version. The second should take the maintainer all of one minute. The first is a larger request. I have not seen other languages requesting this feature.
Both should have a comment field at the bottom that looks like this:
If you aren't seeing it, it might be because you aren't logged in to github. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's going on.
John,
I think it's because I was using my phone since I followed that link you share for us to comment and I did log in GitHub. I'll try again on a laptop.
