Stak #515

In Ymesei's 1968 song "Sils a Mochu Kebesengei" starts with: "Sils a mochu kebesengei / Mak mocha stak re ngak e /ngii a me mengemais a / chermem el uoi meringel." I am told that "stak" comes from a German word and means to prepare to go out by putting on makeup, lipstick, combing your hair, etc. Does this sound right?

@JimGeselbracht , can you find a link showing that 'STAK" is a German word? I couldn't find anything like that so this might be what the word means but it doesn't seem like it comes from German.

I tried a bunch of different variations looking for a german word, but didn't come up with anything. On Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 04:46:22 PM PDT, John Bent @.***> wrote:

PLC discussed that it is only used in a song not common usage.
