Server Leaderboards #167

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Please describe yout idea for a new feature in ezStats:
Currently using procon webstats and xlrstats for server leaderboards but would
love to use ezstats for this function. Any plans to implement server
leaderboards?

Hi!

Not yet, but this should not too hard to implement. Perhaps the server
leaderboard can be shown below the live scoreboard.

But therefor I need your help. I have no procon webstats and xlrstats, so I
need access to your server-interface.

Regards, ezzemm

Do you know how and where procon or xlrstats saves the stats? Is there a API to
get those stats? Have you installed a plugin on your site to show this stats?

I have B3 bot and Procon 'hosted' for me. However, I have access to the
databases via phpmyadmin. If ok I will email the login to you.

Although it is for BF3 only and not MOHW

That would be great. My eMail is ezzemm4u@googlemail.com

Additional questions: Where is the SQL-DB located? On your gameserver, on your
webserver or on Procon's webserver? And have you set external access to the DB
via ODBC? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ODBC)

I believe ODBC is set. SQL-DB is located with the hoster.

I took a short look on it - it should not be too difficult to implement.

The SQL-DB is yours, isn't it? It is not provided by procon or xlrstats, and
this is the usual way to use the serverstats?

If you mean did I pay for it then yes.

Procon or B3 development team do not provide hosting. These services are
hosted by a third party. My service is all bought and paid for ;)

This was not the intention of my question ;)
I just want to know, how is the method to get the serverstats.

Is the following correct?
- Rent a gameserver with procon layer
- you have to enter there the SQL-data of your DB, which can be the same as you
use for your clanpage
- you install the serverstats-viewer on your webserver, which can host your
clanpage too, and have to enter your gameserver-data there

I rent a dedicated server box which houses all my gameservers. I rent a procon
server 'layer' from these http://www.rconhostingservices.net/ so all databases
will be installed on their box.

Ah, okay. So a user has not do do any action to make the DB accessible via
ODBC, and get all neccessary informations when he rents a server with Procon
Layer.
Its just because which instructions I have to give, that users can use
Serverstats with ezStats Serverviewer.

No, no action required from the end user. Everything hosted by the procon layer
server provided inc DB and hosting for the stats pages. Which would mean an
increase in traffic should ezStats server leaderboard be installed on end users
webspace.

Have just relocated my procon layers. Thought about reinstalling webstats but
was wondering how you were doing with your leaderboard? If you think you will
have something then I will wait for it ;)

Hi!

I want to start with the integration of Serverstats to the Serverviewer this
evening. If you want to reorganize your webstats, then do that and send me the
new data afterwards. Is this okay?

Regards
