Request:Can delete old news items not affect starred items?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I currently have the delete old news set to two days
2. I star a lot of items so that ican read them later
3. after 2 days all of these starred items are deleted along with the old
news items

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Is there a way to retain starred items even after it is read and have it
not get deleted when old news is deleted automatically.

You are right: starred items should not be deleted. The next version will 
contain a
fix for this.
