In ds-dev, if the app icon is a bit too big (in flie size), then the icon validation process aborts, and the icon is not considered viable, and it doesn't show up in the UI. Other small warnings have this effect too, based on reading the code. It's not clear if packaging an app with such an icon will prevent the icon from being pacakged / used? And if ds-host is any better (possibly not).
