German translation for fastdial #1

Hello,

I've updated and checked the german translation for fastail 4.7.

I used the english language files from the locale folder. Please merge it.

Because of no allowed zip or 7z files I uploaded the file to my website. You can find the files under: www.web-alltag.de/Dateien/german-fastdial.7z

I've validated the addon on addons.mozilla.org site and it gives a warning about German locale character encoding:

Localization files were encountered that used encodings that are not characteristic of those types of files. Detected files: chrome/locale/de-DE/fastdial.dtd (expected: ASCII, UTF_8) chrome/locale/de-DE/fastdial.properties (expected: ASCII, UTF_8) Localization files with the wrong encoding can cause issues with locales that include non-ASCII characters. chrome/locale/de-DE/

Hi, where can I download the xpi file?

And about this error. Can u change the encoding of this files to ASCII or UTF_8 ? I downloaded the english file an tranlated it. I didn't change the encoding.

OK, I have converted the files to UTF-8. You can either download repository as zip file, but you have to repack it to remove fastdial-master root directory. Or you can get the ready to install addon from http://www.userlogos.org/files/fastdial-4.7-fx.xpi Best regards

You can use "Favoriten-Symbol" as translation for "Favicon" to german language.

Then the german translation is correct.

Let we this issue open for future translation updates?

I don't think there will be any more changes to locale files, but if you like you can keep the issue open.

One more string to be translated - "Move". This string will be displayed in the context menu of a thumbnail. Clicking on the menu item will open "choose folder" dialog and will move thumbnail to the selected folder.

Hi, is this in a new version? I didn't find it on my 4.7 version from 2013-07-22.

You can use "Verschieben" for "Move" translation.

Hi,

for fastdial 4.9 the missing translations under options -> Thumbnail are:

  1. Round: Abrundung
  2. Shadow: Schatten

Hello. Sorry to bother you. I see that you have left "Home" string in fastdial.dtd as "Home". Is it on intend?

yes it is ok. In german we use many english words in the IT. Perhabs in next release, after I see it in content, I will change it.
