xneur is a very buggy and abandoned thing, it doesn't work with a lot of apps (it doesn't work with yakuake on my machine, for example). I don't think it is possible to fix it on Telegram side without xneur developer's comments on what's needed in order to make it work.
xneur is a very buggy ... in order to make it work.
May be you are right but it worked before (v.2.1 for example)

There were a lot of changes and updates of third-party libraries, so it's somewhat impossible to find what causes this.
Will you contact the xneur developer? If not, the issue will be closed since it's definitely something wrong with xneur since I'm able to reproduce this with yakuake as well.

Now I use Linux Destop Telegram v.2.1 because I can not type anything in Linux Desktop Telegram (2.6.1; 2.7.1) neither creating messages nor finding anything when "xneur" application running. I can put TelegramDesktop to a list of ignored applications in gxneur of course. It will cause ability to type into Telegram but it is not a solution I guess. I'd llike to use gxneur in modern versions of Linux Desktop Telegram clients as I did it before.
Steps to reproduce
Expected behaviour
When I press a button right from 'CapsLock' button I`d expect to see "a" symbol. If I press it with "Shift" button pressed, then I'd expect to see "A" symbol. And so on.
Actual behaviour
When Linux Desktop Telegram client (2.6.1; 2.7.1) runs without gxneur running I can type. When I run gxneur I can not type in Telegram client.
