I find the "mute for" option very handy, I often use it with groups that are being very active but I don't want to see their notifications while I'm busy with other things. That option will mute the chat for the selected amount of time, and they will be unmuted as soon as the time expires. Maybe it can help?

yeah, that's one way to do it. but again, it would mute them on my phone too and i don't really want that.

Is your feature request related to a problem?
it's really annoying and distracting when a billion notifications from someone keep popping up on the screen, for example when you're watching a movie or just when you're busy, and they come one by one too.
i still want to have certain notifications come through so i can see them (for example, from groupchats or bots or other people), just not from a certain person. i also don't want to mute that person because i still want to get their notifications on my phone.
Describe the solution you'd like
a way to disable visual notification popups on windows 10 for a certain chat WITHOUT muting that chat or disabling all desktop notifications completely.
for example, on mobile you can disable popups for just one chat while still getting them for other chats/channels/bots. windows native notifications unfortunately don't offer such flexibility, and in-telegram notifications can't be customized that way.
Describe alternatives you've considered
there are no alternatives for this except completely turning off desktop notifications or muting the person, both of which are not convenient.
