Is it happening in 4.5? General should behave like any other topic.

I haven't updated et, I'll update and let you know then.
I'm using version 4.5.2, general and all other topics are muted, but all - except general - shows the notification count badge as it should (since I've the option "Include muted chats in unread count" option enabled).
So no unread notification count badge for general for me. (which is really a pain since I don't notice if someone wrote in that topic)
Hey there!
This issue was inactive for a long time and will be automatically closed in 30 days if there isn't any further activity. We therefore assume that the user has lost interest or resolved the problem on their own.
Don't worry though; if this is an error, let us know with a comment and we'll be happy to reopen the issue.
Thanks!
I'm having the same issue with Telegram desktop and Web Z, so I'm not sure if this is a client or server bug. But it would be great if this could be fixed.
It seems that this issue is specific to Linux version only.

no.
Has this just magically fixed itself?
Can anyone confirm?
No badge notifications here, TG 4.14.4 on MX Linux 23 / kde.
I think it's mostly due to not removing focus from the group when a topic is open, like when I alt+tab away and was chatting in a topic it will keep registering new messages as Read and behaving as if I was having the chat open and participating in it. I usually solve this by switching to any other group/chat that doesn't have a topic and then alt+tab (minimize, switch window ..etc)
For me, in the KDE Linux environment, the badge returned when I enabled Notifications for Telegram Desktop.
Steps to reproduce
Expected behaviour
I expect to receive notifications (Or at least an "Unread messages" badge) for the chat when someone sends a message.
Actual behaviour
No unread messages visible, no notifications, even if I open the chat, messages are marked as read.
I was told Telegram iOS does the same, but Telegram Android doesn't. So I'm not sure what's the expected behaviour on your side.

Manjaro with KDE
