No sound in group calls when using Bluetooth earbuds on macOS #28302

Closed smolraccoon closed 1 month ago

smolraccoon commented 1 month ago

Steps to reproduce

  1. Connect Bluetooth earbuds to MacBook Pro (mine are the Huawei FreeBuds 5i)
  2. Connect to group call

Expected behaviour

I should be able to hear the other members of the call and they should be able to hear me

Actual behaviour

The other members of the call can hear me, but I can't hear them - sometimes everything works fine, but most of the time I can't hear anything when connected to a call, despite the input/output devices both in Telegram's and my MacBook's settings being set to my earbuds, and Bluetooth being turned off on all other devices. What's weird is that if I connect my Bluetooth earbuds to, say, my phone and my MacBook at the same time, then turn Bluetooth off on my phone while still connected to my MacBook, I do get sound, but if I connect to my MacBook without being connected to anything else, most of the time I can't hear anything when connecting to a call. All sound other than Telegram group calls works fine through my earbuds, and I can hear everything in group calls when connecting through my Windows laptop or my phone with the same earbuds. This is also the case for Telegram Desktop 5.4.1 on macOS installed from the official website.
