Closed Programie closed 1 year ago
i don't think this will be implemented ever.
But are there any reasons why this won't be implemented?
privacy.
privacy.
could be implemented through the firefox project, Bergamot proyect only someone is needed for this position
Translation should work on user's demand. If the user does not request the text to be translated, there is no privacy issue.
Hey there!
This issue will be automatically closed in 7 days if there would be no activity. We therefore assume that the user has lost interest or resolved the problem on their own.
Don't worry though; if this is an error, let us know with a comment and we'll be happy to reopen the issue.
Thanks!
This should still be implemented.
This would be really good. For example, how twitter is done. I vote for this feature.
This suggestion should be voted on the official bugs/suggestions tracker: https://bugs.telegram.org/c/32
This is a critically important feature, really blocking users from reading foreign-language newsgroups. There should be an option to translate a given message on-demand, as well as to batch-translate all messages in a given group. This has nothing to do with privacy at all - contrary to @Aokromes point! Moreover - this should be a top priority - much more important than yet another emoji or sticker package...

privacy.
That argument is flawed.... Spell Check is a leak. cookies are a leak, javascript is a leak, cellphone microphone, camera. some cellphones have a dual microphone for "noise canceling", one hole down, one hole up. OS, DNS server, modem brand & settings cache, ISP, etc... There is No privacy...
i write something, and youtube displays adds of that... i don´t have youtube account, i don´t have google account, i don´t have facebook account, i don´t have instagram account, i don´t have TikTok account, i don´t have Twitter account, i don´t have Reddit account, yet, youtube AdSense knows what i wrote in a website forum. https://www.google.com/adsense/start/
i need to use a different DNS server, and a private Non transparent NAT Router. to avoid that.
everything is collected. All website forums have leaks. reddit, vBulletin, etc... They all talk each other in the background, if you get banned in 1 website, is a Red flag, if you get banned in 2 websites, 2 Red flag bans you 50% of the internet instantly for 2 weeks. or when you are detected as a Bot.
The only true privacy is to create a complete different private Network. with Private Satellites, with different Date & Time "Private Rubidium Time Server" Internet does Not work if Time & Date is Not Synchronized, "when error is big" Everything you do online has a Time Stamp. like .srt
instagram A.I. OCR algorithm, detects all letters in the image, and creates a .srt for each photo in the background, you can see when internet speed is too slow to download the image, but enough to download text.
this would be great!
This would be a great feature, even if it only worked for public channels.
As a rough solution, I made a translation server in Node.js that requires creating a Telegram group and Telegram bot. When you forward messages to the group, the bot registers the message. The translation server reads that message, translates it, then sends it back to the group via the bot. You can find it here. Any feedback would be welcome.
USA & EU has forced all search engines to Ban Russia, including DuckDuckGo,
DuckDuckGo has joined the censorship train. DuckDuckGo is officially a Traitor.
searching for a replacement to DuckDuckGo, found this: https://translate.yandex.com http://translate.yandex.ru/ TelegramBot https://yandex.com/support/translate/bot.html https://t.me/YTranslateBot
Works in Groups.
Yandex search Engine in Firefox is complicated to install... you need to change settings: Search Bar from Unified, to Separate. then go to Yandex.com or .ru there is a tiny small green circle in the Search Bar, click twice to add Yandex Search Engine to Firefox. or https://browser.yandex.com/ more easy.
P.D: github also has a tiny green circle for Firefox..
this feature is already present on the android version in Settings-> language-> show translate button
and with the use of the web version on chrome, it is possible to translate all the content
So is it planned to implement translation in Desktop version?
Nothing new? Can't be a security/privacy issue once that is active in the phone version!
I vote for translation on demand as you have on the mobile versions 👍
Pls implement ondemand translation support
implemented on 4.3.2
Thank you so much !!!
Is your feature request related to a problem?
Some Telegram channels contain messages which I don't understand and therefore have to copy messages and use a translator like Google Translate to translate it to a language I understand.
Describe the solution you'd like
Telegram should provide a "Translate" button to translate a message to another language just like known from Facebook.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I used Google Translate before which requires some manual steps (copy message, open Google Translate, paste to Google Translate) just to get the actual message translated.
