This file cannot be saved as a part of an album #8557

Steps to reproduce

  1. Click the paperclip icon being in channel or in any user window
  2. Select 10 images at once
  3. As a result, not all images were attached
  4. Click "ADD" button, and select missing images
  5. Get message "This file cannot be saved as a part of an album"

Expected behaviour

Any 10 selected images of any size and shape shall be processed (by an background compressor, I suppose), recognized and attached as an album.

Actual behaviour

For some reasons, not every of 10 images can be recognized as an album. This happens occasionally. I cannot notice a trend, why this happens. If I copy the same original images to Android phone as files, and try to open them through Telegram app, it works fine, the images are recognized and formed in an album.

On macos desktop version this works as well with the same set of photos. There is an option to "Group all media into one message".

A zip with images is too big to attach here, so you can manually download any 10 images from Unsplash (2 to 7Mb roughly) and try to reproduce the steps.

Configuration

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro x64 2004 (OS Build 19041.450) Version of Telegram Desktop: 2.3.1 Installation source (Linux Only) - the official website / GitHub releases / flatpak / snap / distribution package: N/A Used theme: Default dark

Logs: Insert log.txt here (if necessary)

For some reasons this behavior was fixed in version 2.4.2.

Nope. The issue still persists.
