[Feature Request] Keyboard shortcuts to use during calls & for calling #8879

Open dogancelik opened 4 years ago

Is your feature request related to a problem?

I use keyboard a lot. When I want to call someone, I do Press Ctrl + 1-9 > Press Enter > Click call icon. This is not intuitive.

Describe the solution you'd like

I want to call them by pressing Ctrl + Any Key, without having to press the call icon.

When I'm video or voice calling someone, I want to do these actions with keyboard shortcuts:

Describe alternatives you've considered

Using Tab key to alternate focus between form controls (e.g. Call button, message input box, send button, hamburger menu button, etc.)

Additional context

Hey there!

This issue was inactive for a long time and will be automatically closed in 30 days if there isn't any further activity. We therefore assume that the user has lost interest or resolved the problem on their own.

Don't worry though; if this is an error, let us know with a comment and we'll be happy to reopen the issue.

Thanks!

Can you open this? I still need this feature.

I'm using speakers and I need to mute my microphone every time the receiver speaks so they won't hear their voice every time they speak and I don't want to press Mute button every time that happens, because there is a chance I might mis-click and the call may end abruptly (which happened once).

It would be even better if voice calls worked like voice chat groups, where I press a push-to-talk key to talk.

Hey! It's like a must-have for most people working with keyboard-first preference and it's very anoying that I need ONLY put my hand on mouse when I try to make a Telegram call. Please fix that on all your apps (including Linux), cause majority of apps support over 99% of commonly used features with keyboard shortcuts.
