For environments that support the crypto for bitcoin, create a cipher-set based on what's commonly available.

I can comment to the quality or functionality of this code, but it appears to offer a C implementation under a MIT license, at least from a wallet point of view. More to the point, it offers a good list of BTC ciphers.

There is a draft of this as CS1c but it is not yet implemented anywhere.
