a few "less is more" tweaks to the intro #164

I think there's more pruning that can be done, but I don't want to remove anything someone considers crucial to the message. For example:

Is this the idea that two applications would never share a mesh? Or that some endpoints don't participate with more public applications? (Slightly related, is blockname considered an application in that context?)
