Overview

The current account dropdown doesn't have a clear content hierarchy nor makes it clear what clicking on the account name - that appears twice - does.

The design proposed below takes the hierarchy into account:

• It highlights the view my account action and makes the disconnect option less visible by reducing the text size on disconnect.
• It creates a pattern, repeated by both items, of how the dropdown menu behaves. Before, we had a link and a button, now we have two links.
• It emphasizes whats being hovered by changing the whole background color and adding the underline below the text.

I like the first image mockup without any underlines :)

@poplexity The underline was meant to help people with daltonism to more easily see which of the two options the mouse pointer is hovering. In the images below I changed the lightness and saturation a bit further to guarantee that the difference between the colors is visible.

The reason I'm sort of insisting on a lighter shade is that when you have a dark background, the lighter the other elements are, the closer they are perceived by us. I would expect the element I'm hovering to be closer to me - since I'm thinking about clicking on it - rather than farther away.

What do you think? I'm happy to either continue fine tuning it or taking another approach. @ramijames would you have any feedback on this?
