After performing the steps of copying existctl to /usr/local/bin and applying ownership rights, you still need to add an executable flag to it, so installations don't fail.
/usr/local/bin
That is imo implied by the term 'install'.
Listing it as a separate, explicit command would reduce the amount of troubleshooting, I think.
