Pipeline Tuning #65

Pipeline execution comes with a few tuning knobs that are not currently exposed to the user.

This roadmap item serves two related purposes:

  1. Expose the tuning knobs and document them so that advanced users and developers can set them to values that fit their use cases.
  2. Find sane defaults for the tuning knobs. This relates to latency, throughput, memory usage.

- [ ] Design how we expose the tuning knobs
- [ ] Expose and document the tuning options
- [ ] Benchmark pipelines to find good default values
