These non-default inbox types are Gmail's ways of showing "important" emails more prominently. Bundles are a different way to achieve that same goal (ex. collapse unimportant emails into a bundle), so I most likely won't add support for non-default inbox types unless it's used by many users (at least, not anytime soon).
It might be helpful to add a note to the extension info page. Or, even better, show a helpful message the first time a user loads up Gmail with the extension enabled and a non-default inbox. I found it confusing that bundling wasn't working.
I got stung by this, I wanted to use the "starred first" inbox to replicate the "pinned at top of inbox" but unfortunately I can't.
When Inbox type is set (in Settings->Inbox) other than "Default" (e.g. "Priority Inbox", "Important first", ecc.), the bundling doesn't happen.
