[Bug]: proot-distro/stable 4.0.1-1 issue

Problem description

Since installing latest proot-distro I am getting the error message on attempting to start vncserver:-

vncserver: The USER environment variable is not set.

What steps will reproduce the bug?

Launch Debian build via proot-distro. vncserver :4 get the error message.

What is the expected behavior?

vncserver should start normally.

I have since reverted to proot-distro 3.9.1 fixed issue.
