Why is it worth to add this package?

This tool is great to edit sounds, I use it to stretch atmospheric music to make them even more peaceful

Additional information

I think it uses WxPython and NumPy

Biswa96 commented 3 weeks ago

Have you tried to installed it using pip? The last commit in that project was a year ago.

Foul-Tarnished commented 3 weeks ago

I tried to follow their build instructions

I had to use pkg install python-numpy instead of numpy from pip

but it would still complain about missing wx module (wxpython) when trying to run Cecilia5.py

also they say to use python3.10, that I installed from termux user repository, but then idk how to get python-numpy for 3.10 and not 3.11

Foul-Tarnished commented 3 weeks ago

I guess I should install a full distro in termux and use VNC or something, because it has a GUI ?

Foul-Tarnished commented 3 weeks ago

Well thanks for trying to help make it work locally 🤡

And I don't get why an app being 2 year old is an issue, makes less maintenence work The app is feature complete

Biswa96 commented 3 weeks ago

The app is feature complete

See the list of application crash reports in the upstream project https://github.com/belangeo/cecilia5/issues. Does it look feature complete?

The app fully work on windows, on latest macos when built manually. All its features work.

the prebuilt binary has issue on latest macos, because macos is garbage

also there's no other apps like this being "actively" maintained. Getting the app as-is would still be really great

The project is actively developed. means had code commits recently, bug fixes or improvements, last commit was 2 years ago looks like project is abandoned.

Foul-Tarnished commented 3 weeks ago

does it make it useless ? I guess I ticked the wrong box then, whatever
