Visualize full field geotiff / VRT files

given a VRT, how can a user visualize it? Preferably through a web interface

Discussion

• would be nice to also be able to do basic gis analysis /
• overlay plot boundaries

Options:

• set up mapserver.org
• another gis software that is a web browser and can be mounted?
• mount directory using desktop gis software?

Are there other solutions?
