Turn on GUI scale auto and see how much space you have, its not a lot that is why we made it in such a way we did because you can not possibly display that much information in such a small space.
Made me realize that i completely forgot about the right panel already there when in edit mode !
And i mean.. if the left one gets reduced to half of it's width, then the right panel can be used as an overview when not in edit mode, like my second mockup.
I'd agree that the horizontal space is a bit limited for long descriptions but more than usable for claiming rewards and have an preview of the tasks !
gets reduced to half of it's width
and/or made collapsible with item as groups icons
Is your feature request related to a problem?
The current task and reward view for quest isn't the best in my opinion, having to enter the quest and navigate tabs to see and claim it is a bit much if the player just want to quickly peek around them.
However i do believe this interface useful when creating/editing the quests.
Solution(s)
The player should be able to just skim around quests to see what they should/can do next without having a ton of menus hindering this process.
Describe alternatives you've considered
First i was thinking about making a floating overview: this would either get centered and the selected quest should be noticeable.
Or preferably : said panel should follow the quest icon while moving the quest-tree around
Either way, a non click-drag would close the overview/panel
here is a mockup of said visual:
When discussing it on Terrarium's Discord server, CodexAdrian mentioned that, the floating implementation wouldn't/hardly fits smaller display resolution or different GUI scalling.
So i made this second mockup with the panel on the right, the selected quest centered and highlighted and the scaling changed accordingly :
As aforementioned in the description, i do believe the current Editing UI to be interesting and thus wouldn't require any modification.
