By the way, there is a way for you to contribute code to a GitHub project even if you don't have permission to push. First, you create a "Fork" of the repository. This will make a copy of the repository and you will be able to edit everything. Once you have finished making changes, you can create a "pull request". This will compare the original vs the changes you made. For example, I created a pull request to add the Japanese translations: #142 I hope this helps in the future!
