Fix data folder selection #3

Per comment from @vak000. Also correct errors found in review for exception handling. Now checks to confirm that data_folder= names a folder, if not None.

thanks for your reply and the code correction. Do you know for how long the data can remain on TTN account and if we can subscibe for having the data stored for a long period?

I'm sorry, I don't know. My understanding is that the data is saved for 7 days, but I've heard from others that it's not that long in practice. I don't know of a subscription option. I think you would be best off grabbing data every day and doing long-term storage elsewhere.
