Can you advise on which version of HA and the add-on you are using?
Also can you provide logs for the add-on from HA?
Hi Iain,I found a smoking gun which forced my hand - a worn out SD card which eventually stopped my Pi from booting. So all the evidence is gone, I’m afraid. Sorry :-(I took the opportunity to check the hardware with stock Raspberry Pi OS. It all seems to be working ok.So now I’m rebuilding a new instance of HA on a small SSD. I’ll get back to you later if I’m still having the problem. Thanks, and kind regards,NeilNeil Higgins @. 26 Sep 2024, at 6:14 PM, Iain Bullock @.> wrote: Can you advise on which version of HA and the add-on you are using? OK thanks for the update, good luck with the new build. I'll close this issue for now, but you can re-open it if you still have a problem
Thanks for the quick response! One question: After installing the Tesla add-on, the Overview shows a slide switch right at the top. What is the effect of this? Does it have to be “on” in normal operation?Cheers,NeilNeil Higgins @. 26 Sep 2024, at 7:20 PM, Iain Bullock @.> wrote: OK thanks for the update, good luck with the new build. Not sure exactly what you are referring to maybe you can post a screen shot?
Good news! It’s all working again.
I guess the problem was related to the system being about to fall to pieces completely. The SD card wore out in a about a month. There were lots of warnings about this in the HA community, but until running Home Assistant, I had never worn out an SD card on a Pi, so I ignored the warnings. The system is on an SSD now.
I did get one error message on the Addon log, as follows:
The switch that I referred to is shown in the attached screen clip. I have not been able to work out its purpose.
Kind regards, and thanks again for your assistance.
Neil

Until very recently it all worked as expected. When the problems started I upgraded to the latest versions of HA and the Tesla Local Control Addon, but there was no improvement.
Now, with the car in the garage, if I reboot the Raspberry Pi, I get a minute or two of Tesla "Home" before it reverts to "Away". Controls - Charge Rate, Charge Limit, Honk Horn, etc. - have no effect.
I have tried repositioning the Pi in case of a new interference problem. No luck.
A software upgrade came into the Tesla a night or two ago.
I added a Shelly 2-channel meter in the switchboard outside, to measure the actual Tesla charging current - it co-existed quite ok with everything for several days.
Are you aware of other users having similar problems? I'm at my wits end. Not sure how to debug.
TIA, Neil
