Has the same problem! Just too many effects in project. Delete some and save through "save as..." because "render" button doesn't help!

Will try this
Also having same issue, trying hard to get it under 100% memory use when using validator.py but I seem to delete one thing - and the memory use skyrockets. Even beat matching to reduce commands doesn't seem to be working
Couple hours ago noticed - if you creat difficult effect (example - floating brightness) its always will be "too long show" We need better validator with more function! And i need to learn how use this validator! Today I tried run my show in car at least 50 times - really exausted

Can you upload your sequence pls & maybe I can help?
Hi got the same problem. Not too many effects. Because of copyright problems, I upload only the xlight files Archiv.zip .
Man, in your project A LOT of effects! Remember - when you turn ON light - its 1, when you turn OFF - its also 1 ! Thats mean you can use 340 timestamp (this equal 680 effects) Floating effects too difficult for car. If you want to rsmp up/down brightness of your light - use special setting. (for example - for ramp up brightness within 2 sec just set brightness on 70%). This settings written in instruction/readme page We Will Rock You - nice choice though!
Thanks for checking, what do you think I should do now? Reduce lights? The brightness stuff has nothing to do with the error I suspect. I changed that. The song needs LIGHTS ON at a lot of times ;-)

There is a lot of things you can change.
Here are some tips to avoid this issue - I may open a DOCS issue on this.
You are limited to 680 COMMANDS, each ON and OFF command count as 1
If you are sending multiple ON/OFF commands, that are sent simultaneously - they count as the same command as long as they are IDENTICAL, If one is ON 75% for ramp and one is ON 100% that is two commands.
Try adding a 100ms timing track, and use that for alignment.
The only commands you can send are ON and OFF (and you don't send off, you just end ON), dont try to use mosaic, or bars, or any other features in xlights they don't work. You CAN use the EQ Sequencer, but it eats commands so fast it frankly isn't worth it.
Don't leave gaps in your track if you can avoid it, you can save commands by aligning the end of one command with the beginning of another.
Last... Use Python3 to run the validator script, if it's over 100%, do NOT try it, just try and find the issue.
the reality is 680 commands - isn't many, that's 340 transitions total. You CAN do cool stuff with it, remember with light shows less is often more.
Is there a command counter? How do we check command count?

Just use validator. This propramm will show you how much of available memory you already used

Got it thanks. Works now.
Hi, I am having issues with the validator, consistently getting 'expected 48 channles, got 512'. I have tried reducing the number of commands and created a new sequence with only a couple of commands but still the same, also have cut the mp3 down so it's a shorter play. I am not sure if the validator is giving me an Incorrect message or there is something else. The first try in the tesla to play the show gave a too long message so tried to get an ok from the validator before trying again. Help will be appreciated

- Try to change your music file! Make it 44.1Mhz and 320kbps (maybe your rate is too high) or convert it into .vaw
- Maybe you made some change in "model" ! Because normally project have 1 channel for music and 47 channels for lights!

Thanks for the pointer! I had to untick Auto Size under Controllers then I could change the channels to 48. Now working
Thanks for helping each other out!
cannot figure out how to get past the show is too long error here, anyone have any insight?
