Exceptions when listing a folder are not caught #2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure a bad folder path, or
2. Stop the Alfresco (or other CMIS) server, then
3. Refresh the WordPress page which contains a folder listing

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The page should be displayed without the folder listing. Ideally a warning 
should be shown in place of the folder listing.

Instead processing of the page stops and an error is logged by in the error_log.
