The programmers could arrange for this suggestion to be fufilled extremely easily(such as with the short-lived "4 WIDE QUICK PLAY"), but truth be told, it's a very bad patch when QUICK PLAY is supposed to target those without accounts. Plans to create a faux-matchmaker within QUICK PLAY itself have been apart of osk's plans for a long time—dating back to #343 with this reply on GitHub. In this ideal QUICK PLAY setup, you wouldn't have to search for rooms within your skill level—a skill level based on 1v1 performance, mind you.
Don't forget that as a user, you can always just host your own public room if you feel as though the hosts of others are managing their rooms poorly. One of the reasons I suspect players might find solace in the CRAFTXBOT
rooms is simply down to the completely static form of discrimination, since the host is an unfeeling robot simply comparing statistics.

Just read that ticket - very cool! Although note that I probably wouldn't be as excited for a 1v1 solution. There's social fun in a room full of people.

I've tried that solution, but you wait quite a while for someone else to join the room. Additionally, once you've created the room, you can no longer easily check the list of Custom Rooms to see if someone else has made a room you'd like to join. (A workaround is to open another browser window, but now you're forced to check two different browser tabs.)
Thanks for your reply!
"Reformed QUICK PLAY", for lack of a better distinction, is still gonna retain the FFA "room full of people" setup. My reference to a skill level based on 1v1 performance was referring to your TETRA LEAGUE rank limiting room access, not the game mode. Here's a quote from osk in the TETR.IO Discord server late last month:
well i think i wanna keep the "big room" aesthetic it feels cozy right it just. needs to be actually winnable lol
im still thinking about it but ive been thinking about soft splitting, that is, splitting targeting and scoring, but transparently example idea; qp uses timed deathmatch mode (most KOs), the room is split up into 𝑛 brackets, and players are distributed by quick play MMR targeting is mostly to people within your bracket, and scoring is within your bracket (so 1st place means, first within your bracket) having it be DM mode also helps in: 1) players can just keep playing after dying, it SUCKS to die early then sit and wait for 3 minutes 2) you can drop into the game midmatch and start playing
Awesome, thanks for the quote! osk makes some great important points about QUICK PLAY.
Note though that osk's idea seems like a large amount of work. My idea of just having more QUICK PLAY rooms with different configurations should be an easy-to-implement short-term solution that can be rolled back once osk finishes their bigger idea.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
My overall goal is that besides playing Tetra League, I'd like another place to play with similar skill level players, but there are several problems that stop me from achieving this.
The typical place I go is to Custom Rooms and look for an "S+ and below" room. Before Patch 6.3.1, there would be CraftXBot (I think that's what it was called) that had different rooms for different ranks. This mostly solved the problem, but the Bot wasn't always running. During those times, there would never be another similar room, and if I tried to make my own, it would take too long to even find a 2nd player. In these cases, I would just give up and close Tetrio.
After Patch 6.3.1, the problem still wasn't solved. Players can created ranked rooms, but some would keep "Allow Anons" on (accidentally?), which would undoubtedly let a much higher ranked player join and decimate (similar complaint). I've seen hosts kick players from their room multiple times under the presumption of being too high rank, but when I check the kicked player's profile, they seem to indeed fit the room's ranking. Sometimes, there would be no "S+ and below" room; other times, there would be two of them, and so you split the players across two rooms, which is probably not what everyone wants. For me, Patch 6.3.1 made progress towards having rooms available to players, but it didn't solve the root problem.
All of this makes for an unfortunate experience when trying to play games without affecting your TR.
Describe the solution you'd like
At a high level, I would like to request there be permanent rooms for different rankings: "S and Below", "A and Below", etc. There are multiple ways to implement this solution, but before diving in, I would first like to give reason why I think this is a good idea. When CraftXBot used to run, I consistently saw that the Custom Rooms with the most players were the CraftXBot rooms - they were your most popular rooms. I reckon that's a testament in and of itself to the importance of automated, fair, and continuously available rank-based rooms on your platform.
Probably the easiest implementation for you is to expand on the concept of Quick Play. Right now, it's an automated, fair, and continuously available room without any rank requirements. Create new Quick Plays that do have rank requirements, one for "S and Below", "A and Below", etc.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Another option, probably significantly more work, is to take ownership, or build your own, CraftXBot. I know CraftXBot was created by an external partner, but based on its popularity, I reckon you should try making it a full-fledged, first-class feature on your platform.
