xrefs with serious punctuation issues #35

Dot separated numbers with more than 2 numbers present serious parsing problems.

Many of these have at least one full-stop that should be either a comma or a semicolon plus a space or a full-stop plus a space.

There are also some similar problem patterns that include either a hyphen/minus or a comma. Here are some examples with a comma:

Each such xref must be reviewed in context to determine how best to resolve the problems.

Comparing similar xrefs in the sorted count list can sometimes provide a useful clue. e.g.

002 \x + 11.7,11. 24.3,6. Jer. 1.13.\x*

The space is missing from the second one. Without the space, the parser must look further ahead.

1 Kor. 8.1,4,7,10.10.19,28. is harder to parse than it would be with a space inserted. 1 Kor. 8.1,4,7,10. 10.19,28. but is the second reference to 1 Kor. or to the current book?

Thanks for spotting these. Some of these are hard to correct indeed. It may well be that there's errors in the Cambridge Bible also, that were copied verbatim. The only way to tackle this would be to actually read the target references to see whether they make any sense. We actually did that upon entry of all of them, but obviously there many that have been overlooked.

Each of these needs to be reviewed.

Maybe one of these is a valid reference to a range 2 Kho. 24.18-25.21. that spans a chapter division? Contrast this with Mat. 13.2-11.14. which cannot be a valid range.
