Stuck on 3 seperate dungeons and cannot progress on either side #119

Running on hacked wii thru an emulator

snes9xgx latest version

Original Filename: i shortened the name for the sake of convenience so dont remember

Seed: 258190103

Item, Entrance or Custom: idk what to write here

Mode: open Logic: normal Goal: defeat mother brain and ganon Difficulty: normal Variation: alltp_sm randomizer

Description of problem:

in order to progress for samus i need the morph ball which requires me clearing turtle rock which i have access to but cant finish because i got a key instead of a big key in the wrong order

also stuck on the gargoyle dungeon in the village of outcasts

cant beat eastern palace because of lack of bow

another possible way to progress would be to maybe do a hover with the pegasus boots which are located in norfair on the other side of a panel which needs to be shot from the other side which requires either the wave beam or access to another area thru a game switch

the other game switches i cant access except for the mountain cave and fortune teller also cant access brinstar except small part of it by going up from norfair

i dont know what else to say 2 dungeons are already soft locked and at this point there needs to be a "seed is beatable option" to ensure this is beatable

i generated 10 seeds so i have another nine with potential for an actually beatable game but id rather not start over

Spoiler (if available):

I have yet to encounter an unbeatable seed, due to dungeon keys or otherwise. Keys can be locked behind doors if the only purpose to opening the door is to get the chest that contains a key. This is the case in your Thieves' Town - there's a key in the Big Chest locked room. You don't need to open all the chests to clear a dungeon and you should be able to clear Thieves' Town just fine without accessing the Big Chest; the other two keys are under the same pots they always are.

Turtle Rock, you'll have to be a little more specific. Which door can't you get past? Have you gotten all the available chests up to the door you can't unlock? Have you gotten all the keys that are under pots or held by enemies? These aren't randomized.

You'll find the bow in Norfair once you have the Morph Ball.

in turtle rock the boss key is required to proceed to the next area the place where it is located did not contain it and since the spoilers dont tell me the location of every key and big key in every dungeon/palace etc i cant really move on from there and since the big chest probably contains the morph ball there isnt much else i can do i can go back to the skull woods and defeat the moth boss but other then a few crystals im stumped, for samus i have the speed booster, morph ball bombs, 30+ missiles and 25 super missiles, the varia suit and a few reserve tanks turtlerock-b1

also for the thieves den i cant progress because the red goriya that needs to be killed cant cuz no bow same for eastern palace now you see my issue,

the last Big Key is in captivity, the galaxy is soft locked

On the seed listed in your initial post, the Turtle Rock big key is in the Chain Chomp room. You've already been through it if you've made it to the vanilla big key location. You need to push one of the blocks to make the chest appear.

Once you get morph ball you will find the bow in Norfair to finish Eastern. There is nothing in Thieve's Town that requires the bow, not sure what the hold-up is there.

turtlerock

to be fair this is my first time really playing zelda i mean i dont even own the game and have never completed it so it is reasonable to assume i would miss this(suppose thats why there is an empty room with nothin but chain chomps)

You should definitely get familiar with Vanilla before attempting Randomizer, or at least comb through some of the excellent documentation out there. I came into this from a primarily SM background as well and these two documents helped me out a lot.

i looked up the randomizer terms and googled em in terms of spoilers i am familiar with all of light world and same with most of super metroid areas

JordanB500 commented 5 years ago

as it turns out i no longer have this problem because the emulator forgot to tell me that the default location for my save files doesnt exist so now i have a start all the way over issue

JordanB500 commented 5 years ago

this issue was caused in the first place by my incompetence and not knowing where a chest was located therefore now knowing such things and this right here gives me a chance to improve and to make new discoveries while at the same time providing a lot of entertainment so i learn from my mistakes, and when i start a new game it is also a memory game for me to remember where everything is.
