5 years ago Also no way to progress further into Norfair without Hi-Jump or Speed Booster... The Super Missile trick to open wave beam gate in room below SpoSpo might also be another possiblity??

5 years ago This is a hard mode seed, right? CWJ across the moat is actually an easy trick, compared to some of the other things this difficulty can throw at you. There is a frame perfect input in there, but it's just holding right and pressing jump twice at the right times.
You can get into Lower Norfair with only Varia Suit or enough Etanks. It's quite tricky without Hi-Jump Boots, but definitely within the scope of a hard mode seed. Here's a tutorial for that lava dive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmlSDfw8FXQ

5 years ago Used CWJ to cross moat room and cleared most of Wrecked Ship (can't reach Reserve or E-tank with only Morph & Screw Attack though).
WJ'd to get up to Gauntlet and cleared it out (E-tank, x2 Missiles).
Used the Super Missile trick in the blue gate room (was quite easy indeed!) to get a Reserve.
Now have Grapple (from Hi-Jump), but can't get back up bottom of Red Tower. Is there a precise WJ required to get to the ledge? I know from checking ROM with SMILE that Hi-Jump is at X-ray which could now be reached with Grapple and is no doubt the intended next item as it will let me get into the right side of upper Norfair. Goodness knows i've enough E-tanks/Reserves (13) for a nice heat run now!

5 years ago Appears i was supposed to damage boost to X-ray before going to bottom of Red Tower. Let's see....
After investigating all known tricks i could find on the net, my conclusion is that this seed is not possible... unless a frame perfect running long jump with wall jump off missile column in mote room is required to get to Wrecked Ship. (Zoasty is the only one i've ever seen pull this off!) Otherwise ive made it as far as Upper Norfair, with only Morphball and Screw Attack, 5 Power Bombs. So no way to get back up Red Tower. Possible to make it to Marida Main Street with Gravity Jump using PB on tube, but without at least Ice Beam it's not possible to get either up Marida Main Street or even make it to the Central Marida long tube and enter Wrecked Ship the back way (which would require Hi-Jump as well). Can't see any way to get higher to check out PB room right of Crateria/Samus' Ship or The Gaunlet??
