The technology, the knowledge, the tooling, the legos, the friendships, the support; all of it residing within the cocoon. It's time for metamorphosis. The Metamorphosis hackathon is about channeling the magic of builders and bringing the abrupt change that propels us all out of the cocoon.

In this bounty, we are looking for ideas that would help the entire ecosystem to scale. Is it a DeFi tool? A Wallet feature? An NFT swap? An educational game? A campaign? A coding bootcamp? Let your fantasy flow and do your research. Submit a project and see the butterfly effect.

Requirements:

A detailed plan for a Tezos-based project, of at least 5 pages of dense information (if you use infographics, please adjust the length accordingly).

A slide deck, an approximately 5 to 10-minute video, explaining the main concepts of the idea, and a detailed project plan with milestones & resources needed. We prefer applications from teams with the capability and intention to build the project they propose.

Judging criteria:

Appropriateness: How applicable is the proposed solution to the Tezos ecosystem? Team capacity: Could this team build the project if they had more resources? Novelty: Innovativeness of the project Depth: Are potential risks, issues and challenges appropriately addressed? Feasibility: How feasible is the implementation, looking at the current capabilities and limitations of the Tezos protocol?

Prize:

$3000 in tez in total and it’s up to the judges to distribute based on submission qualities. Winners of this category will be invited for a grant consultancy session and potentially introduced to the Tezos foundation’s investment program. We reserve the right not to pay out prizes if none of the applicable submissions meet the minimum criteria.

Who will work on the project?

We are a team and a part of us are founders of a consulting company consisting of people with 5+ years working in the crypto industry.

We are all consultants, full-stack and smart contract developers (at least the core team). We can of course extend team and add additional frontend and backend people as needed, since we have a good personal network of developers.

We also have a lot of both developer and business experience. We usually do consulting, specifically in the domains of crypto, software architecture, and financial risk management. But we also like to build our products or do the outsourcing of the fun ones.

As a side-note we also are in the field of education where we make bootcamps and courses for coding (including smart contracts).

Description

The goal is top smooth the dapp and web3 experience so that usage feels seemless like web2, but still being cryptographically secure and decentralized

The system is comprised of mobile app and browser extension that together offer universal identity provider. Basically decentralized private key management solution with focus not being on the specific key, meaning key can be lost/stolen/compromised and still recovered or re-generated. But identity is unique and singular! We will explain more technical details below.

Dapp usage flow:

dapp asks the extension to confirm the session (via web3.connect() or similar to Metamask in any case)
extension publishes the confirmation and a request for mobile app to approve a certain session nonce on-chain (signed with a private key)
mobile app or push notification server reads the confirmation and nonce and asks user to approve it (via biometrics if available, or PIN if not)
on random (rarely, 1-5% of the times), based on block hash data, transaction and other sources of randomness (possibly oracle), user is sometimes asked to answer the multiple choice question, but rarely. If answered wrong, identity is blocked. Attacker has 25% chance to guess the answer (given he has no pre-knowledge about it)

Features:

Single identity is assigned to the user. Each user has username and email.
Public and private key can change and be recovered/re-generated.
Browser extension and mobile app are connected to one another, meaning manage the same identity (they don’t share any private keys). They connect by scanning the special QR code shown on extension installation by mobile phone where the mobile app is installed.
Browser extensions for a single identity can be installed on multiple devices where we wish to use the identity (each of them has separate private+public key pair)
When using the dapps, extension asks for session approval once (connecting to dapp), while each transaction needs to be confirmed on a mobile app.
If no browser extension is present, dapp can decide to support our auth solution directly in the dapp itself via iframe.
Smart contracts ensure smooth yet cryptographically secure experience in a decentralized manner (more details in a technical paper at )

Registration flow mobile app:

public and private key are generated by using phone safe randomness source
[if possible] public and private key are stored in the safe storage area, or even better use crypto hardware module where possible/available
user enters username and email
public key is associated with username and email and published on chain (via smart-contract) => this is now the identity
[optional] user adds 2-3 questions with multiple choice answers (only he/she knows the right ones, this is additional layer of protection)
questions are also registered/published on-chain (stored in the smart contract)
user adds “recoverers”, addresses/usernames that can lock and recover the identity (k/N required to recover); cc similar to @Argent guardian concept

special QR code is shown containing the info needed for the mobile app to connect to the extension
user scans the QR code with mobile phone (adds a device)

Milestones

Below are milestones and deliverables (required time in parenthesis for each point):

My name is Andreas aka DynamicEyeStudios and I've been minting and buying NFTs, and dabbling in DeFi via PlentyDeFi and Crunchy, over the past year on the tezos blockchain. I know the community very well and I've seen some of the best projects minted with XTZ. I've also been building a twitter list called VegDAO that has surpassed 700 members. My next goal is to infiltrate the Vegan Investing Club newsletter but I need funds for that, I know the founder and might be able to make a good deal.

VegDAO EDU aims to draw awareness to our everyday decisions around our consumer behavior and how it affects our environment and the beings we share it with. In doing so, eco-friendly meals will be made available at Web3 events, while uplifting vegan and vegetarian NFT creators with curated group shows and pop-ups.

As a bridge to the traditional Web2 space, VegDAO aims to educate, the nearly 20'000 member strong, Vegan Investing Club newsletter about Web3 applications and marketplaces on the tezos blockchain. A fee of $5'000 is needed to advertise to their mailing list. The Vegan Investing Club is responsible for successfully crowdfunding plant-based businesses with member contributions starting at $100.

Zoom meetings will be hosted to onboard interested investors and collectors, introducing them to community leaders and top-performing creators alongside up-and-coming artists that haven't found their way in blockchain technology. Zoom's monthly fees can range anywhere from $25 (<300 participants) to $2500 (<5000 participants), depending on the number of attendees.

Once the funds are made available I can start funneling everyone into an Educational platform similar to the one I subscribe to called VeganCreators by Ted Carr. On this platform I will teach the members how to buy tezos on an exchange, how to set up a wallet and interact with NFT marketplaces like Objkt, fxhash, Kalamint, Versum and so on. I'll be able to introduce the top vegan and vegetarian creators that mint with XTZ to the members.

Work Plan

Appropriateness: An untapped and frequently overlooked space in the blockchain ecosystem is the Medical applications of it. We plan to develop IPMED to increase awareness of people to develop more medically inclined blockchain dApps specially on the Tezos ecosystem. If we are able to successfully implement our project, IPMED will be able to expand Tezos' ecosystem by having multiple developers joining to build dApps on top of our framework. Team Capacity: We are a team of two developers. We can build an MVP within a week. In fact, we have also joined the Tezos Bounty on that and are currently working. However, the project can accelerate its growth if given more capacity.

Novelty: There is not a single blockchain medical data system built on Tezos. Moreover, there is not a single medical data system that are currently developed that aims to bring medical data permanence as well.

Depths: The potential risks involved is convincing hospitals to give up data ownership to patients. However, we have a contingency plan for this. It involves the implementation of smart contract which enables data collection policies for analysis purposes. In fact, this can be one of the dApps built on top of the project we are currently making. This will be in future developments.

Feasibility: The Tezos protocol is perfect for implementing the project. This project would need smart contracts, and Tezos is capable of implementing it. The max data per block on Tezos is 16384 bytes and the contracts will simply be storing hashes which won't be a problem in processing data amongst the stakeholders.

Vision: Privacy of Patient Data, Protection from Medical Data Tampering, and Efficient Data Processing across Providers.

IPMED-DS aims to use Tezos to develop a decentralized platform to manage medical data. IPMED-DS is a system designed to provide interoperable, secure, and effective access of medical records across patients and providers.
