I have tried replacing the AC jack twice in the few couple weeks in an attempt to fix this issue. I used two different brands of AC jack to be sure.

Check to make sure it's not related to the BlueGigaEmpeg project or to Hijack:

Test to see if it still occurs even with all the pieces of the BlueGigaEmpeg unplugged from the sled.
Test to see if it still occurs with an older version of Hijack kernel installed.

Problem still exists with old Hijack version 422 from like, 2005. So it's not a Hijack issue.

Noticed: When I go to Hijack menu and reboot the player it frequently goes back to DC/Car mode after the soft reboot.

Investigate the possibility that this is caused by my insistence on having the memory wire and the ignition wire power up at the same time for my install.

More info: it’s still pretty random on my player. Last few days it booted into car mode pretty often. So maybe not wiring or software after all.
