Try to keep rats out of the feeder. #21

Noticed a rat at the feeder at sunrise and at sunset on 2019-04-27.

Can't tell how it's getting to the feeder, but suspect it climbs the pole. Other option is that it climbs the camera wire and bridges the gap. If the former, perhaps greasing the pole will work. If the latter, perhaps moving the pole away from the wall a bit more will work.

Tried:

Greasing the pole.

Results:

Only worked if I greased the entire pole, just greasing a section wasn't enough.
Rats left greasy footprints on the feeder base and the deck. Too messy.

Instead, I am doing this:

Ordered a tube baffle for the pole which should theoretically work. We'll see how it does when I install it on Thursday.

I'm going to close this bug for now, and reopen the bug if the tube baffle does not work.
