Unmatched left and right double quotation marks that may need correcting

I just made a TextPipe filter to facilitate the analysis.

Replace matching pairs of left and right double quotation marks. It provisionally replaces these by «...» (pointing double quotation marks).

The output file contains:

• 647 matched pairs of «...»
• 74 instances of the left double quotation mark
• 9 instances of the right double quotation mark

Thus there are 83 locations that need to be reviewed and corrected.

The defective locations include one verse where the quotation nesting was done incorrectly.

John 1:38 reads:

Google Translate gives: (lightly edited)

This might be resolved by changing the two quoted words in v38b to use left and right single quotation marks. Thus:

There are 83 matches. The next task is to locate each line with a proper reference.

OK - so the way to systematically locate each of the 83 verses was by running the same filter on the SWORD module diatheke output. Here's the search results: (tab delimited)

77 of the results are all in John, and some of these are probably an acceptable use of continuation quotes. They all still require checking though.
