support for v7.0 touchpad - vaio SR #32

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install synaptics drivers (10.2.4 modded, 11.1.3, 12.1.0 ) - reboot
2. run two-fingerscroll (normal or admin or xp compat) - it modifies the 
registry successfully - then reboot
3. launch two-fingerscroll 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

it says "driver support for multiple fingers is already enabled but the 
driver still doesn't report multiplefingers"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.0.6 - vista 32

Please provide any additional information below.

My laptop is a Sony vaio SR with a Synaptics touchpad v7.0.

Are the drivers or firmware blocking the 2 fingers stuff or am i doing 
something wrong?
Did anyone manage to make it work with a v7.0 touchpad?

I tested it on an old athlon xp laptop with a v5.9 touchpad... working ok... 
seems to
be the firmware...

Same issue here with a HP 2530p. Touchpad v7.0 with driver version 11.1.18, I'm
getting the same message.

Is there a way to find out if the firmware is blocking the two-finger function 
or if
the touchpad supports this function in general?

What does your v5.9 touchpad have to do with the v7.0?

I tried to make it work under ubuntu linux (last release), I could get chiral 
scrolling, but still no two finger scrolling. When using "synclient -m 15" 
command, 
the field multiple fingers stays at 0 all the time. 
So I really think the firmware is blocking the multiple finger detection.

I just would like to know the origin of the problem:
-is my software install procedure wrong?
-is it a hardware/firmware limitation?

tried it on my TOSHIBA A300 laptop, which also have Synaptics V7.0 touchpad....

is there a way to update or change the firmware of the touchpad? 

I'm having the same problem here as tonio757, also using a Sony SR laptop with 
the
same firmware and (modded) driver.

Any help would immensely appreciated.

Same here, windows 7 64bit, asus g60j.. I think it really is the firmware 
that's 
blocking multi touch feature, even the new aplication from synaptics (Scrybe) 
doesn't 
work as expected (all multi touch features are hidden).

hope there's a way to change the firmware! my old laptop works perfect...

I found a solution. This new driver works on 7.0 firmware. Your welcome

Confirmed - with this driver the two-finger scroll now finally works on 
Synaptics 7.0 
hardware in my Vaio SR.

finaly works on 7.0 firmware! only two finger scrolling, two finger tapping is 
not 
working...

and it doesn't work flwalessly, its a bit jumpy to me.

Two finger tapping is working fine on my SR. (win 7 pro x64)
I use two-finger-scroll only for tapping, I deactivated the scrolling in the 
app, i 
am using the synaptics built-in two finger scrolling.
I also disabled smooth scrolling in IE 8 and it's a lot better.
The three finger gesture is also working in the windows photo gallery picture 
viewer.
