Seems like a bit of an oversight to me? If I'm supposed to follow orders I need to be able to understand them. Could sentience grant common, or at least an understanding of common?

I've experienced the same situation as a sentient spider who's master was a tot. You have no idea of knowing what they want you to do when they are talking.

What conditions did you experience this under? (ie, what mob and what species was your master?) I thought I noticed this being an issue still in the last month or so but I found out I actually shared calcic (skeleton/plasmaman language) with my master. We just didn't know because he wasn't using calcic and I had no language menu button (i had to find the verb under the IC tab).

Giant Spider with a human. I couldn't understand common, but didn't think to check my language list at the time.

If your master was speaking common (not uncommon) then I'd say yeah, it is relevant to this issue.
