  2. Observe it's sprite is mostly invisible.

It's fine for me, did you try clearing your cache? Byond launcher -> gear icon -> Preferences... -> Games tab -> Clear Cache

Weird sprite issues are often fixed by doing that.

Probably has something to do with the new transparent sprite system, I've noticed that sometimes, SD will be incorrectly offset but I can't reproduce it locally.

seems to be working fine on latest version of master

This was fixed a good while ago, can be safely closed
