If you type %{, not %} but } is inserted after the cursor.

As of r2b731f80adf7, this occurs only in case of empty file.

Also, if you type %{ in a block and press Enter, the following gets inserted:
    %{

    %}  

    %}}

As of r1d8a99f, these issues seem to have gone away, but auto-edit for %{%} 
only works in {} or <<>> blocks.
