Hi ale,

can you please provide a log (or some more context information) please? I am
not able to reproduce this... In fact I have yet to see the OS fire that
compass error!

report was from a friend.. his compass sensor is broken, so this problem may
not very important.
but may be useful to known that with odd compass data there's a infinite loop
somewhere...

ok, i also had this problem on my device (acer liquid), and my compass works
fine,
at first start after a reinstallation mixare gave a toast message with "compass
data unreliable. please calibrate etc etc." and continue forever, until i stop
the app from the android application manager.
now seems to work without problems.

I'd like to hear some feedback from the people that are experiencing the issue
(I cannot reproduce it on the phone I have at disposal :-( ).

I think that the patch works great for hiding the message, but I am not sure
whether the compass sensor is released afterwards or if mixare keeps requesting
the updates (hence using a lot of battery and requiring a force close).

If someone could confirm this is not the case I'll close this issue!
