Can't connect via repeater address #124

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter all info including IP repeater with port 5901 (ex.
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5901)
2. hit connect

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should connect, but display's handshaking message indefinitely

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3/17 release

Please provide any additional information below.
I am connecting to UltraVNC thru repeater on Win2K. It will connect to the
same machine when direct (no repeater) thru wifi. Regular UltraVNC viewer
connects works with identical settings. Wondering if it could be a problem
with the different port. Repeater is listening on 5901. Server behind the
repeater is listening on 5900.

Enter the repeater information separately, not with the address (you have to
scroll
down in the configuration screen to find the place to enter the repeater info)

I did. I entered the IP address (local net) 192.168.1.101 in the host field and
5900 in
the Port field (the port the server is listening on). Then, in the Repeater
field, I
entered the static public IP address (xx.xx.xx.xx:5901) including the port the
repeater
is configured to listen on (5901). Clicked connect and there is no connection.
I'm
wondering if maybe the repeater field can't interpret the addition of a port or
is it
hard coded to work only with 5900?

There was an issue with sending the VNC password when using the repeater--
Don't know
if this was your problem, but it is fixed in the latest dev build

Still cannot connect. Using 5901 as port repeater is listening on and 5900 for
server behind
repeater. Dumb ques....where do I find my vers number?? (0.4.6) I'm using the
lastest build
from the website. Dave

What is it saying in your repeater log?
