Droid Eris - Does not connect at all #91

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
None; doesnt connect at all

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i guess im supposed to see the desktop output, instead it stays on the
"connecting/establishing handhsake screen" then it gives me the "VNC
connection failed" screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
i am using TightVNC 1.3.10 on winxp

Please provide any additional information below.

i have opened ports 5800/5900 and have verified that they are open and
listening. When i use my web browser, on my local computer as a viewer, it
works. When i use the TightVNC viewer it also works, for some reason the
phone doesnt work. This is a new android eris. Also something tricky i
suppose, when i go to "what is my ip, it gives me something different than
what the vnc server gives me when i hover over it. They are not random so
they are not dynamic. Regardless, i have tried both IP's and none of them
work, i have also switched up ports to no avail.

I also have a HTC Droid and I experience the exact same issue. Have tried with
other
viewers from PC and works fine. I also display different IP addresses on VNC
Server
that are different to actual IP. Help!!

NEVERMIND!!! I didn't have a license installed. After it was installed all
worked well!

how do you install a license, and how and where do you get it?

See item # 149 in this list of problems. I too failed to connect to a W-XP
machine running TightVNC 1.3.10. Upgrading Windows site to latest Tight VNC
(2.0.2) solved this.
