Ubuntu 8.04 (GNOME 2.22.2, Compiz 0.7.4).
View->Text Display pops the dialog at (0,0), hiding its title bar behind
the GNOME panel.

Interesting.  I wonder if there's a way to tell the constructor for that dialog 
to
pop up in the center of the main window.

This should be fixed as of r158.  Can you test on Gnome for me Ben?

Confirmed on Gnome. Will verify no unintended consequences on OS X before
