I think that pause is appropriate for speech: you don't want to miss a few words jammed by notification sound. For music, you may prefer to miss a few notes but keep the rhythm.
As I said it's quite an individual request. For me I can still get the meaning of the sentence even if a second is missing. Sometimes I'm more confused due to the REplay of the already spoken words, as they would also fit in the previous sentence... I still think it would be nice if it turns down the volume but it's not a must and controlling it by the settings would be fine, wouldn't it?
I also think that pause is appropriate for speech. However, provided it was an option its fine (preferably with a default of pause).
Pausing would be OK. I want to get the media button / bluetooth / audio focus (what this is) issues sorted out first then I'll put it in and see how well it works.
On version 5.0, when a text message arrives the sounds stops but it is clearly continuing to play as when the notification sound finishes the podcast as moved on. This means part of the speech is missing. I haven't tested in v5.01. , but if this is still present in this version I will have to restore an earlier version as this completely unusable.
Tested in v5.01. Still broken. I have restored 4.5 using Titanium Backup. Now working not missing words form speech podcasts. I'll have to keep on this version until fixed.
This will be fixed with #107.
When a podcast is played and a notification sound for e.g. incoming email is played, the playback stops and starts again 1 or 2 seconds before it stopped. Instead of interrupting the playback, the playback of the podcast could turn down its volume and level it up again after the notification is finished. This is common behavior for music players. It's a rather subjective preference, but maybe it would be possible to change the behavior in the settings if the majority of users does not agree to this as the default behavior.
sorry for putting a lot of stuff on the issue list, but I really like podax and i would like it to be the best podcatcher for android.
