WOB source file is not updated since 2024-06-17 #1

Hi @the-Hull !

Since 2024 July the European Commission has stopped to publish a lot of documents that where specially interesting for processing data (basically all documents that you can find here) this project has been impacted.

I think the source you are using to populate the database is not updated anymore (as I have experienced in my own project) so the last available data that your db shows is from 2024-06-17. In your case it seems to be this file: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/observatory/reports/List-of-WOB.pdf

I have asked to the European Commission about it with a not clear response saying that those resources will be deprecated in the future (it seems the future is now 😁 )

This issue is only intended to inform you about this situation :)

Hi @qmarcos,

thank you very much for pointing that out - sadly, now the entire routine is failing, deprecation (officially) reached us. Have you gotten an answer or any info on an alternative source?

This seems useful! I will observe, if the URL changes over time. If not, downloading the file on demand and extracting the relevant data seems more useful than maintaining a seperate dataset, as has been the case.
