Happy for us to make these changes!
@stacietaylorcima @tcelovsky I would recommend we do a CC attribution/non-commercial license for the website itself. Please reply here if you are 👍 or 👎 on that one.
We link to our CoC in both the header and footer of the site. I also added it to the README for the org. Is that sufficient, @mxmason, or does it need to be part of the website repo’s README as well?
I think the dark gray version of the Netlify logo will fit best with our current design. We should be able to add it to the footer in a tasteful way and can reconsider its treatment when we do our redesign in the near future.
I hacked in the logo via the dev tools and this is what a simple implementation could look like:
@mxmason Does the build badge on the repo count?
@segdeha no, I don't think the badge on the repo counts. On the policy page, Netlify links to sites with attribution in their footers.
I've started work on this in #196. Once we've decided on a license for the site, I'll add it to that PR and then we'll be good!
👍 for using CC attribution/non-commercial license for the TCL website, thank you!
@mxmason anything else to do on this or can we close it?
Netlify's open source policy has criteria for projects which receive the open source scholarship. We have an informal agreement that we will receive their scholarship, and we should make good on our end by ensuring that we meet their criteria. The TCL site must:
We shouldn't need a license since we are not offering a software product and Netlify made a small exception for us, but there's no harm in including one, right? Technically, the site is open source!
Netlify offers premade badges. We can also create our own link, which should read “This site is powered by Netlify”, and include a link back to our home page.
